Due to some family health matters, the decision to go to Morgan Park was made pretty late, thankfully for me Kane and Jason made room in their shed for me to be amongst it.

The bike had literally been rolled into the shed after Wakefield and rolled out into the trailer Thursday morning for the drive up. I was expecting to put tyres on it as the current set had already done SMSP in February and Wakefield in April but figured i would get Friday practice on them seeing as it was yet another new track for me.

Went out on Friday for 3 sessions to learn the track – my head wasn’t in it as my mind was still at home so called it a day. The tyres were still in good nick so decided just to monitor them Saturday.

Saturday morning was feeling a bit better and mind was more in the game, went out for qualifying and had a decent result considering the limited time on the track and a low side in front of me on my first flying lap.

The rest of the weekends races were fairly uneventful for me, the one with the most action my camera battery went flat with 3 laps to go which was a good battle with Mel Vanderwal which finished with me slip streaming him and beating him across the line by .03!

Managed to get through the meeting on the tyres as well, who said racing couldn’t be affordable Laughing (down the back anyhow)

Had a great weekend none the less and will be back next year with some fresh tyres to have a crack at it.

Bring on SMSP in July for some sprint racing and the enduro, the bike will get some love this time, i promise.
